Maple Dell Scout Camp is the premier camping facility in the Utah National Parks Council. It has the strongest traditions and brand loyalty among all our camps. Located only seven miles up Payson Canyon on a paved road, it is accessible year-round and is just a half-hour drive from the Orem Scout Office.
It comprises 160 acres of hardwood forest with 38 structures including a lodge, commercial kitchen, and shooting sports ranges. With the help of generous volunteers and donors, they have been able to add a few new facilities like the ropes course and iple lines and a new Stake Activity Center able to serve 100+ youth and leaders. The lake has been dredged, enlarged, and improved with a sand beach, dock and inflatable water features.
In 2016, more than 7700 individuals were served through summer camp sessions, cross country skiing, stake and ward encampments, leader training, family camping, and council activities. With 42 campsites already available and anticipated additions and improvements, this camp will be an ideal resource for all groups with an interest in developing character in young people.
