We're headed back to my favorite plane, Dominaria. And we're bringing back one of the greatest sets in Magic's history...Legends. For me personally, I think the only thing that could be cooler is if they somehow mashed Balduvian Horde, Jester's Cap, and Hammer of Bogardan into the set. 🤣
Cards from Legends have exploded in value over the years. Sure, there are some underpowered 6 casting 4/3's...but there are also insane cards for Commander, like The Tabernacle at Pendrall Vale or Moat. And the set is chock full of exotic Legendary Creatures, like Nicol Bolas or Angus Mackenzie. Playing fog-on-a-stick with Seedborn Muse is a Stax player's dream!
There are tons of things to love about Dominaria United. The first few cards they spoiled look super fun. A Shivan Hydra?!? Jaya. Stained Glass cards (including basics!), Jumpstart, box toppers, and more.
As fun as it sounds I wanted to take a moment and provide some specifics. Wizards has been expanding the product line for sets and it's a bit clunky as things continue to evolve. So here's my best summary of what to expect:
Draft Boosters - 36 packs. 15 cards per pack: 1 rare, 3 uncommon, 10 common, 1 land. Foil Borderless Mythic Planeswalker: 1 in every 100+ packs. 1 Legendary Creature in every pack. Foil card: 1 in every 3 packs. Foil Box Topper in every sealed box.
Set Boosters - 30 packs. 12 cards per pack: 1-4 rare, 4-7 uncommon, 3-6 common, 1 land. List cards: 1 in every 4 packs. At lease 1 Legendary Creature and 1 Foil in every pack. Foil Borderless Mythic Planeswalker: 1 in every 100+ packs. Foil Box Topper in every sealed box.
Jumpstart Boosters - 18 packs. 20 cards per pack: 2 rare (1 of which is new to this set), 2 foil lands, additional cards/lands. 10 different themes. Grab two packs and shuffle them together to play. (note: these are in replacement of the Theme Boosters. WotC is no longer printing those).
Collector Boosters - 12 packs. 15 cards per pack: 5-6 rare, 4-5 uncommon, 4 common, 1 land. 10-13 foil cards. At least two Legendary Creatures. Foil Borderless Mythic Planeswalkers: 1 in every 50+ packs. Foil Box Topper in every sealed box.
Prerelease Packs - 6 draft packs (see above) and 1 foil-stamped rare or mythic card. Includes deckbox, Arena code and Spindown die.
