The Arkham Horror: Secrets of the Order is an expansion that takes place in the French Hill neighborhood. This expansion introduces four new investigators and three new scenarios to challenge investigators with ghosts, cults, and mysteries. Can you survive the realm of monsters and madness or will you be devoured by the terrors of the Underworld? The Arkham Horror Board Game is required in order to play the expansion.
Arkham Horror: The Card Game, Cycles, Mythos, Expansions
Within The Arkham Horror: The Card Game there are "cycles" or "campaigns" that act as main story expansions based on a themed campaign. Cycles were released in stages with the first stage being a "deluxe expansion". Deluxe expansion includes the opening scenarios for the cycle, new investigators, and new cards. After the deluxe expansion, there are 6 "Mythos Packs" which include scenarios and other playing cards. The cycles were created to be played in order with the deluxe expansions being played first and then the following mythos packs. The cycles are not standalone games, they r the A Horror: The Card Game core set. However, campaigns have changed formats with the release of The Edge of the Earth campaign which is explained below. Outside of the campaigns, there are standalone scenarios and investigator starter decks.
Arkham Horror: The Card Game (2016)

In Arkham Horror: The Card Game each investigator has their own deck of cards that determines each player's strengths and weaknesses. The deck holds weapons, allies, an encyclopedia, etc. to help Investigators take on terrifying mysteries. Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a campaign game involving living investigator roles for players, and is designed to continue the storyline of the game through expansions, scenarios, etc. In other words, how your player ends at the end of a scenario is how you will start at the beginning of the next scenario. So whatever damages you took or strengths you ended with at a scenario will carry on to the next scenario, but regardless of any injury, you will gain experience which can give you better cards. It is a super fun game of collaboration, mystery, and of course story-telling
The Dunwich Legacy Cycle

In this expansion, players get the first two scenarios of the Dunwich Cycle, Extracurricular Activity and The House Always Wins. Extracurricular Activity starts off with Dr. Armitage very concerned about Professor Warren Rice and asks for your help finding him. In The House Always Wins, Dr. Armitage asks you to find his other colleague, Dr. Francis Morgan, in the gambling joint, Clover Club. This expansion contains the starting 2 scenarios, 5 mini cards, 59 player cards, a campaign guide, and the 5 new investigators cards.

This is the third Mythos pack with the third scenario, The Miskatonic Museum. This is the start of a new era of how campaigns will be formatted from now on. There will be a campaign expansion and an investigator expansion. The investigator expansion will have all the new player cards, five new investigators, and around 250 cards to expand your deck. The campaign expansion contains over 300 scenario cards including the material needed for story-telling, paths, and more. There will no longer be mythos pack, and the expansions are both standalone products by themselves. Therefore, you do not need one to play the other.
