Moonshot Rips - Hold & Abandonment Policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Overview
Moonshot Rips customers sometimes end up with cards we're holding for them before shipment. This policy explains how holds work, how long we hold cards, what happens if we can't reach you, and how you can claim your cards at any time. It's intended to be read alongside the Moonshot Rips FAQs & Policies document.
Here's the main promise. Your cards are always yours. We won't hold cards to pressure a purchase. This policy exists so that both Moonshot and our customers have a clear, fair, written process for claiming held cards, and a clear endpoint so that cards don't sit forever in our back room.
What "held" means
For purposes of this policy, your cards are considered "held" by Moonshot Games in any of the following situations:
-
You selected Rip & Hold at checkout.
-
Your combined Moonshot Rips purchase history is below the $250 free shipping threshold, and we're consolidating shipments on your behalf.
-
You specifically asked us to wait on shipping for any reason.
-
You were a Rip & Ship customer before our relaunch as Moonshot Rips. (See the Pre-Relaunch Customer Addendum in the Moonshot Rips FAQs for the amnesty window and the other legacy options.)
Held cards remain your personal property the entire time, until the abandonment rules below are triggered. Moonshot Games is only acting as the custodian of your cards, not their owner.
The monthly sweep
Once per calendar month, we review every customer with cards on hold and do the following:
-
$250 combined and up. Your held cards are automatically consolidated into a single shipment and sent to you free of charge, using our standard packaging and carrier selection.
-
Below $250 combined. You'll get a notification email at least seven (7) days before the sweep runs. That email lets you choose to buy additional packs to cross the threshold, pay standard shipping on what you already have, come pick up in-store, or let your balance carry into the next monthly sweep.
The monthly sweep is designed so that no customer needs to think about logistics. If you want your cards sooner, you can always claim them directly. See the next section.
Claiming your cards any time
You never have to wait for a sweep. You can claim cards we're holding for you, on demand, using any of the following methods.
-
Email. Write us at support@moonshotgamestore.com from the email address on your Moonshot account and request a shipment. If your combined balance is below the $250 threshold, we'll quote exact shipping with no markup or handling fees. If your balance is at or above $250, your shipment is free.
-
In-store pickup. Stop by 50 N. 9th St., Noblesville, IN 46060 during store hours. In-store pickup is free and available any time, regardless of balance. No appointment required, though a heads up email helps us have your cards ready when you arrive.
-
Phone or message. If you'd rather do a quick call or send a message through one of our stream channels, just reach out. We'll route your request through support.
Our contact commitments and your responsibilities
We contact customers through the email address on file with their Moonshot Games account. You're responsible for keeping that email address current. If your address changes, please update your profile on the website or email us so we can update it on our end.
Our routine contact attempts include:
-
The monthly sweep email, sent when you're under the $250 free shipping threshold.
-
Follow-up reminders for balances that have been held for an extended period without action.
-
Ad hoc outreach tied to a specific issue with your order, a shipping change, a product defect, or any situation we think you should know about.
What counts as a "contact attempt." For purposes of the abandonment rules below, a contact attempt means a substantive, individually addressed email sent to the email address on file. Automated bulk newsletters and marketing emails don't count. If an email hard-bounces as undeliverable, we'll try once more via any secondary method we have on file (phone or social) before counting the attempt toward the abandonment clock.
Abandonment
If we're unable to reach you through three (3) consecutive monthly contact attempts, and you've taken no claim action during that period, your held cards will be considered abandoned. Abandoned cards will be donated to a local youth gaming program, school, library, or charitable partner we choose. We make a written record of every donation and keep it in our files.
Abandonment is final. Once cards have been donated, title has transferred to the recipient and Moonshot Games can't reverse the donation, recover the specific cards, or replace them with equivalent cards. This is the single most important reason to keep your contact email current and to respond to our sweep notifications.
Exceptions and extensions
We would much rather make an exception than lose a customer. We'll pause the abandonment clock for a reasonable period if any of the following apply and you've told us about it:
-
You're on military deployment, dealing with a medical situation, or dealing with a family emergency.
-
You've told us in advance that you'll be unreachable for a defined period (a long trip, a move, something like that).
-
You have another good-faith reason that isn't on this list. When in doubt, email us. We're real people and we'll work with you.
Any pause requires that we've actually heard from you. If we never hear anything at all, we have no way of knowing that an exception applies.
Legacy (pre-relaunch) customers
Customers with cards held from before our relaunch as Moonshot Rips are covered by a one-time amnesty window through 11:59pm ET on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. During that window, legacy customers can claim their held cards free of charge with no minimum purchase. See the Pre-Relaunch Customer Addendum in the Moonshot Rips FAQs for full details. After the amnesty window closes, legacy holds move onto this Hold & Abandonment Policy on the same terms as any other customer.
Changes to this policy
Moonshot Games may update this policy from time to time as our process changes. Material changes will be communicated to active hold customers via email before they take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this document reflects the current version.
