Thousands of people across Central Indiana have trusted Moonshot to buy their cards and collections. We have worked hard to earn this trust and have spent the last few months working behind the scenes to improve our processes to better serve folks looking to offload some singles or entire collections.

Up to this point we have had a pretty rigorous process designed to protect our team's time and to set clear and proper expectations with customers. Starting Monday, August 19th, our buylist process changes. Moving foward our focus will be on processing your collection as quickly as possible, while offering the highest buy rates in the area.

We will be buylisting cards at 50-80% of the market price and have ramped up our internal processes to do so in real-time, on the spot. No more dropping off your cards for an offer days later. Now when you bring in your cards, we'll make you an offer right then and there and you can walk out with cash or store credit.

We also will be removing our limit of ten cards at a time. We will buy entire collections same-day. We do ask that if you are bringing in over 7k cards (a five-column box) that you let us know ahead of time. Our goal and intent is to process ALL lists same day, but dropping a million cards 15 minutes before we close becomes impossible. Work with us and we'll get you cash/credit same day!

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you buy?
We buy Magic the Gathering and Pokemon cards. Primarily singles, but we will also buy sealed product. We also buy decks, opened pre-cons and complete sets. Basically, if it's Magic/Pokemon cards...we're in!

How do I need to prepare my collection to have you buy it?
We will take your cards in whatever format you have them. Our process requires us to unsleeve all cards and remove them all from binders. So if you have extra time and want to speed up the process you can do this ahead of time...though we're happy to do it for you.

Do you buy bulk?
Yes, but...we want to buy bulk as part of a collection. If you're just looking to dump bulk we can recommend some better options for you.

Do you buy sports cards?
Not yet. This is something we're working towards, but likely won't have ready until 2025.

Do you buy foreign cards?
Yes. We will buy all Magic and Pokemon cards. We typically offer a reduced rate for foreign cards as they are harder to sell, but we will buy them.

Do you buy damaged cards?
Yes. We buy them at damaged prices, but we'll take them.

Do you buy signed cards?
Yes. It may impact the price (sometimes we have to consider signatures as damaged cards), but we will buy signed cards.

Do you buy slabbed cards?
Yes. Market prices are known and grading is verified. We'll buy these.

How exactly do you buylist my cards?
Our process starts by us unsleeving, then sifting your cards. We separate everything we know to be over $1 and consider the rest bulk. Because we're moving fast it is possible that we unintentionally put cards over $1 in the bulk bin, but we're generally pretty good at this. From there, we will scan and price your non-bulk items and come up with a total offer price. We'll give you a cash offer and a store credit offer. If you agree to sell, we'll have you sign a sheet and pay you on the spot.

I've heard there are limits on cash, is that true?
This is true, though we're moving the number up! We will now pay up to $1,000 in cash on the spot. If you need cash today, we will pay top dollar for your Pokemon and Magic cards.

Do you pay more if I opt for store credit?
Yes, we do. The percentage is no longer static as we're moving prices up across the board...but you can expect a bump in your offer if you choose to accept store credit in lieu of cash.

What is your "Hotlist?"

Will you give me an itemized breakdown of how much you paid for each card?
We will give you a printout of the TCGLow price for the cards we scan. Our offer will be a combination of these cards with bulk and all other non-scanned items in your buylist.

What is the best way to maximize the value I get from my cards?
To get maximium value you'll need to pre-sort your cards and have them ready for us to just buy.

2. Set your pricing to TCGLow
3. Scan all your cards
4. Validate all are graded correctly and unsleeved.
5. Bring in your list and your cards in the order they show on the app.
6. We will scan your cards and list and make you an offer on the spot.

If you don't want to fuss with individually scanning cards you can also increase the offer value just by sifting anything over/under $1 into two separate piles.

All of this is great, but what are your specific buy rates?
As we disclosed at the top, generally we are paying 50-80% on non-bulk cards. To increase the speed of our process and the ability to pay you faster we are intentionally not scanning every single card. This means there is no guaranteed rate per card (other than Hotlist cards). Our goal is for you to leave happy, and get paid on the spot.
